That being said, the nature of software development is there are always going to be some that slip through the cracks! That’s where you come in!
We definitely want to hear about any issues you come across, so we went ahead and set up this fancy new bug tracking sub-forum (http://www.doublefine.com/forums/viewforum/60/)! It’s already pre-filled with notes on what kind of information will be helpful to us in re-creating the issue so we can get it fixed, so take a look at that before posting.
As for what to keep an eye out for, we definitely want to hear about any crashes ASAP. The cause for these will most likely be compatibility issues. We only have so many machines in the office, and while we did work with an external service for compatibility testing, everyone’s setup is a bit different. So the most important thing with any crash is to include your hardware specs.
The other thing that would be great to look for is localization bugs. We were able to get French, Italian, German, and Spanish translations in for Act 1, but it was pretty much the very last thing to go in. We’re in the middle of localization testing right now and are also leveraging bilingual Double Finers, but this amount of eyeballs will be truly helpful. We’ve created a sticky post specifically for this, so let us know about any misspellings, missing characters, or lines that are being cut off! Danke! "
