Geht ja gut los: "FIFA officials confirmed last month that the governing body would use a “variable pricing” model for the tournament, which will take place next summer in the United States, Mexico and Canada. The assumption was that most price adjustments would occur after the Dec. 5 World Cup draw, when matchups will be set and demand will increase for games involving popular teams. But on Friday, in the second window of the very first lottery phase, fans logged into FIFA’s ticketing portal and already saw some prices that were slightly higher than the ones first revealed Wednesday. On Monday, in the third window, there were at least a few more upticks." Und es wird immer besser: "On Thursday, FIFA also launched its World Cup ticket resale platform, where some of Wednesday’s buyers quickly listed tickets for several times the price they’d paid a day earlier. FIFA will take two 15% fees on every transaction on the platform, meaning it will earn $30 for every $100 spent." Und spätestens hier mit diesen RTB-Tokens wird's dann richtig unappetitlich: "Meanwhile, FIFA and its 'digital collectibles platform,' FIFA Collect, have continued to promote 'Right To Buy' tokens aggressively. As millions of fans were shut out of this first lottery phase, anxiously awaiting acceptance emails that haven’t yet come, FIFA has sold many 'RTB' tokens for hundreds or thousands of dollars apiece. The tokens are, essentially, a costly shortcut to 2026 tickets, allowing buyers to bypass lotteries. They promise buyers the ability to purchase one or two World Cup tickets to a specific match, in an unknown section, for a to-be-determined full price. 'Owning an RTB does not include the cost of the ticket(s) itself,' FIFA Collect clarifies on an FAQ page. 'It only gives you access to purchase the ticket(s).'"
